St Petersburg-Catherine Palace-staircase

Who doesn't like a grand staircase?  Rasterelli made this one all baroque for Elizabeth and Catherine II had most of the gold removed.  She did however, keep the Ming Dyasty porcelin and a lovely clock and barometer.
