Fisherman's Bastion Budapest

From St. Istivan's Bascillica.

It's not really old. It is positioned on the spot where fishermen used to gather. It is symbolic, the towers representing each of the 7 (?) original tribes who populated the area, and the Hapsburg's really built the church.
Here's the overview (pardon my shadow).

King/Saint Istivan

You'll see more views from this vantage point later. This is Parliament, across the river.

Majolica is good!

A modern tower in the new church.

They are working on the steeple of St. Matthias.

Just down the street is the statue of Andreas Hadik. He was such a great horseman and lover that men who wish to be great lovers come here to rub the horses genitals. No one in our tour group seemed to feel the need...

Real estate in this area goes for sky high prices. I thought this place had lots of possibility.

There is a cave underneath the street where Andreas Hadik stands. Armies have found it useful for quite some time. The Nazis found it quite useful most recently.
