Lyon-Day three-Gallo Roman Museum

"Omnia Gaulia divisa est in partes tres" remember that from high school latin. I sure do and have always wanted to use it, so this is a great opportunity. Lugdunum, which is where we visited this day and where I took these photos, was the capital of Gaul-all of it's parts. It was a big deal and it went forgotten till the 20th century. We'll remember it now.

The museum built to house the artifacts found is nothing short of magnificent itself. Proof here!

After descending this magnificent staircase, and photographing it, the museum itself winds around in a gradual spiral-easy to walk.

and the basement has even more stuff.
