This mushroom fireplace is in a room at the top of the staircase with all the lovely curvy wood. There are two benches inside the mushroom. It was designed for courting. When the suitor came to call, the young couple would sit on one side and an older female relative of the girl would sit on the other. Very warm and cozy.
This is the only lav design of Gaudi's that I have seen. It looks contemporary. I can see him today designing for Kohler.
