Opulance and History

People and paintings.

This is the famous hall of mirrors. It's famous in our family because my stepfather, Eggie, came back from his trip to Versailles and redecorated the dining room with mirrors (which we now enjoy at the riverhouse-though not so much in the dining room).

Thank the goddess he didn't fall in love with black and white tiled floors.

Ironically, they wouldn't let us go this way.

This is Carloman. Grandaddy Carloman to some of us-many of us actually.

Carloman in context-with all the kings of France.

This is the drill. Don't get attached to a leisurly stroll through Versailles to look at the artwork.
