Reliquaries

St Martial has a story that just wouldn't stop for centuries. He was one of the 5 Bishops sent out from Rome to convert the Gauls, but his story became embellished with many variations over the centuries. Here is depected St Valarie who was decapitated and offered her head to St Martial. Such a gift! I suppose it's the thought that counts.

Here is the shrine of St Valarie. I found this out on Wikipedia-there isn't anything in the directory of saints in St Michel's church to let me know this. St Loup and St Marital both have a little blurb.

Nearby this cathedral is the tomb of St Martial. I didn't get around to seeing it.

And now for St Loup.
