Toulouse-Canals

This is a little canal, Canal de Brienne, which connedts the Garonne-a big river, with the Canal du Midi. The Canal du Midi was put into being through the vision of Louis XIV who wanted to shorten the distance to the Mediterranean.

Here is a traveling man and his dog. There are lots of them both. It seems to be the thing to have one's dog with you, and sometimes several dogs, and of course a bitch with a large litter of puppies is sometimes good for getting spare change. This particular dog had just had a swim and stick chase in the canal.
